As anyone who lives in Washington, D.C. will tell you, this is the best time of the year to be in the city.
The cherry blossoms are in bloom :) Not only are they beautiful but they smell fabulous. The tidan basin is surrounded by a cloud of pink, the sun is always shining, and all is well with the world.
And for this, we must thank the Nation of Japan, who gifted us with these remarkable trees, and Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, who forbid them to be torn down during the war.

I was staying there 5 years ago... It was the best April in my life... Unforgettable memories... I recall those gorgeous cherry blossoms on the river all the time...
